The Bucknell University Employee Health Plan is administered by Geisinger Health Plan. The University offers three plan options, so our employees can choose a plan that best meets their needs. Because of our ongoing partnership with Geisinger Health Plan, we are able to keep the covered services consistent across all three plans.
As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act protects patients from unexpected bills for emergency care, non-emergency care from out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, and services from out-of-network air ambulance service providers. Find Geisinger Health Plan's Public Disclosure of Pricing Data here.
All three plan include prescription drug coverage. For those covered under the CDHP plan, most drugs will apply to the deductible prior to your responsibility shifting to a copay. This means you must pay the full cost of the medication until your deductible has been satifsfied. Once the deductible is satisfied, you will pay the copay for the prescription for the remainder of the calendar year. Preventive maintenance medications for certain chronic conditions are covered at a copay with no deductible. The easiest way to determine if your medication is a preventive maintenance prescription is by reviewing the Geisinger Safe Harbor Drug List.
Talk to a Registered Nurse 24/7 with Geisinger's Tel-A-Nurse service.
Geisinger Health Plan members receive discounts on local wellbeing products and services. Members can also participate in the Active&Fit program, which offers access to local fitness centers and select YMCAs for just $25 per month. Please see the below flyers for more information.
