The Division of Talent, Culture & Human Resources (TCHR) oversees professional development opportunities for staff and faculty that include a variety of learning modalities to meet employees where, when, and how they want and need to learn to support their growth. Learning options may include in-person or virtually facilitated workshops and sessions, online and on-demand courses, and microlearning opportunities and simulations.

Since its launch in March 2025, TCHR has been collecting feedback on the Bucknell University Institute for Learning and Development (BUILD) learning & development infrastructure. Our staff and faculty have articulated distinct needs related to: streamlining professional development offerings, improving the user experience and accessibility of learning options, and optimizing the way our campus leverages our learning management system, Edge, to be as responsive as possible to our campus partners. In order to respond to these opportunities, while balancing reduced internal capacity, we will be suspending BUILD lane registration effective September 1, 2026 to focus our time and energy on responding to your feedback. However, we are committed to offering the facilitated sessions necessary throughout fall 2026 for currently enrolled lane participants to complete their respective lanes as they are currently configured. Sessions for fall 2026 will be available for registration in Edge (log in required) beginning August 10, 2026. Learning & development remains a core element of our employee value proposition. After sunsetting the current BUILD lanes, we will continue to revise and update our learning & development landscape to respond to the highest priorities identified by our campus partners and to meet the evolving needs of the moment.
