Programs for Students

• 25-30 introductory courses covered: Study Groups

  Study groups meet 90 minutes once per week. They serve many introductory courses and are led by trained peer facilitators. The groups are designed for students to work together to work through difficult concepts, prepare for tests, practice key skills and work on assignments when allowed by the professor. Facilitators are there to help students find their own answers and guide group work.

• 10+ introductory STEM courses covered: Peer Tutoring

  The TLC tutoring program offers one-on-one peer support for biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Any student registered in a course covered by the program is eligible to schedule multiple sessions per week with a trained peer tutor. These services are free of charge for students.

• Open to all students: Academic Coaching

  TLC staff members are available to meet with students on a one-on-one basis during the academic year to review or suggest effective learning approaches and strategies.

  Common skills we support include time management and prioritizing goals, reading and note-taking strategies, using textbooks efficiently, homework for test prep, test preparation strategies, procrastination and motivation, and test anxiety.

• Open to All Students: Quantitative Support

  Bucknell is committed to reducing barriers and supporting student progress across all quantitative courses and disciplines. The TLC's Quantitative Support program has a particular emphasis on providing support with pre-requisite skills or content and problem-solving approaches. All services are free of charge to all students.
